Burnhut Origin and Philosophy
Before it became a resort, the mountain was remote and largely untouched. In the 1920s, the first skiers were true pioneers, navigating rough tracks on foot, carrying everything they needed. The build and used simple huts for shelter, one of the earliest huts was a tiny cattleman’s hut built by the Lovick family in 1919. It was lost to fire in 1925 which gave Burnthut Hut Spur its name.
The terrain today is different, complex organisations, markets and decisions, increasingly shaped by rapid technological change.
How we can help
Burnthut takes its name from the ski run 'Burthut spur' on Mt. Buller in Australia
We’re inspired by the pioneers of the ski industry,
· Seeing possibility where there is no obvious path
· Progress through action, not perfection
· Enduring without certainty
· Starting simple and improving over time
· Treating setbacks as part of the process
Working with leaders and organisations to see possibility where others don’t, simplify complexity and build momentum
